On Sunday afternoon on March 8th, we strolled through Hong Kong Park, which is located only a few minutes from the Hong Kong Zoological & Botanical Gardens that I previously blogged about. It is newer than the zoo, completed in 1991, but has some cool old garrisson buildings that were built between 1842 and 1910. This is located right above the Pacific Place mall/JW Marriott/Island Shangri-La/Conrad above Admiralty.
Some of the interesting features that I like in the park include the aviary, a large netted type of enclosure with a large assortment of birds; the vantage point, which is a at the top of a 100+ steps tower with great views of central, midlevels and more; the tai-chi garden, a very relaxing place; and the Flagstaff House Museum of Teaware, which has examples of Chinese tea culture.
Also, as is a frequent site in mid-levels and the green sections of Central and Admiralty, we saw David's beloved "frank" birds flying around.
